Established in 2009, Akin & Associates has grown into a trusted insurance provider, dedicated to serving the diverse needs of our clients across Alabama. Our Story
Larry Akin began his journey in the insurance industry after an 18-year career in pest control, where he served as Regional Sales Manager for Cook’s Pest Control. In 2009, Larry was recruited by Nationwide Insurance and quickly established Akin & Associates. After completing a rigorous New Agent Training program, Larry took over the Priceville agency, relocating it to the Priceville Foodland Shopping Center to better serve the community. Following this, we expanded our reach by opening a new office in Decatur, strategically located to support the Hispanic community with our bilingual agents. Our latest expansion was the acquisition of the Burchell Insurance Agency in Cullman in 2018, where the original staff graciously stayed on to ensure a smooth transition.
